CYCLING ON PEMBA ISLAND

Dear Friends,

I got to Pemba Island this morning on the ferry from Zanzibar. Just cycled 20 miles to a town called Chake Chake in search of a sailing Dowh to Tanga. May have to push 30 kms north to the town of Wete, which has a Dowh port for sure. If it all fails I will have to retrace steps back to Dar. Will see.

Pemba is ruled by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar. I imagine this is what Cuba is like.

It is jungle, palm trees and very green. Am looking for lodging now.

First thing I did in Pemba was to drink sugar cane juice.

Best Wishes

Andy
