Kings Highway

On the 'In the Footsteps of T.E. Lawrence' cycling trip I reached the Kings Highway at the town of Karak and then followed it all the to Petra. In Karak I met a couple of Swiss expedition cyclists who had come all the way from China across Central Asia over a 12 month period. They warned me about the danger from stone throwing children on the Kings Highway. However I must be charmed because I only encountered smiling and waving children by the roadside. If I remember rightly it took me three days to cycle to Petra.
